[Bran is decked out in clothing that is not at all unfamiliar to him-- back home in Winterfell, this sort of garb was necessary more often than not.

Because he's already ahead of the game, he's decided to help out others who might be behind. In his lap are the thin warm-weather clothes of some of the other children.]

Everyone is going to be too cold. Winter is coming; you need to be ready.

[And he holds up... a pair of scissors. Uh oh.]

It's best to keep your wits in times like these.

[ooc: Yes, this is theft, but Bran's convinced himself it's okay if it's for the right reasons. If you'd like to be one of the people Bran's taken clothes from, go right ahead! Otherwise, feel free to opt out. He does plan to destroy them.]

Last month, I was a seven year old. Could have used some clothes too. The City tends to do that sorta thing to you. Though it might make you an adult.

Really?

Well, I nearly am already anyhow. I'm nearly ten.

[Ten still sounds very much like a child to her but she smiles at him.] Perhaps one a bit older anyway.

You settlin' in alright?

[Bran nods.]

It's very different here. But I've been told... it's said that if I stay here, I may be able to walk again.

Yeah. That'd be amazin'. They've got some brilliant technology and medicine here. [She pauses a moment.] So you want to stay, yeah?

I... think so. Only, I miss...

Your family, yeah? If it helps, I think you make new family here. [Really she'd like to hug Bran]

[Bran nods slowly. He'd been separated from his true family, all except Rickon, for some time back home, too-- but he made do with a makeshift family. WIth Hodor and Maester Luwin and Meera and Jojen and the rest.]

I think I could, maybe. And Sansa is here, besides.

This place isn't so bad. S'got lots of advantages. Sansa a sister?

Yes. My eldest sister.

I don't think she likes it here.

[Rose ponders a moment.] Believe I met her when she first arrived. Seemed pretty happy not to be home.

That's good.

Yeah? Why do you think she doesn't like it much here?

Sansa likes... pretty things. And proper things.

And there's not enough of those here in the City?

Not like she's used to, I think. Everything is different back home.

Yeah? Maybe she'll find things here to sorta replace 'em. Got to be nice havin' family 'round anyway. For you and her.

[He nods vigourously.]

I didn't know when I'd see her again. Even before.

[He gets a big smile because Rose knows what that's like. Not so much with a sister but definitely with the Doctor.]

City's kind of brilliant that way, innit?

Yes. Sometimes I wonder if... if the others...

Might show up? I sorta been wonderin' the same thing 'bout some of my friends from home.

[He nods.] Yes. When I left nearly everyone was gone-- not just Sansa, but the others, too. My... parents, and my sister Arya, and my brother Robb, and my bastard brother Jon. They all went away. I didn't know when they'd come back. Or even if they would at all.

[Rose smiles softly at Bran.] This place is sorta like a second chance then. For me too. I'd lost my best mate. He's here now though. [Best mate isn't an apt description for the Doctor but Rose figures it will do for the conversation.]

A second chance. [Bran likes that.] Do you like being here?

Love bein' here. I think it's brilliant. Better than. S'fantastic.
