Dream IV ❄ video/open action

[Bran has wheeled himself into the square. Summer is beside him, under command to sit and stay, and is doing so obediently.

In one hand Bran holds his device, a little unsteady, while the other clutches tightly at the handrim of his wheelchair.]

Everyone is saying that today, things are different... that there are people here from other worlds. From--

[He falters, readjusts himself, takes a deep breath-- and then goes on.]

If there is anyone here from Winterfell, or from Westeros at all, I'd like to see you, please.

[ooc: You heard the boy! GoT/ASOIAF people, come and find him. This is SO VERY OPEN to everyone else, too, though! Let the games begin!]

Hodor. [...Bran agrees. And then,] Wait here just a moment.

[Bran wheels himself into the kitchen and returns with two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Besides the chair and the strange communications device, they are the most amazing discovery Bran has made in the City thus far.]

[Hodor frowns, eyeing the sandwiches suspiciously.]

...Hodor?

[He picks one up, sniffs it, and bites into it. His face lights up. He exclaims happily through his food]

Hodorf!

[Bran grins and takes the other in hand.]

I told you so! That's what I thought, too.

[Hodor nods contentedly.]

Hodor! Hodor hodorf.

[A large man with an equally large appetite, he scarfs down the food in just a few moments. He then frowns and looks to Bran, and looks around the room questioningly.]

Hodor...hodor?

[Bran makes pretty quick work of his sandwich, too-- he's a growing boy, and though these half been half his diet since he arrived here, he hasn't tired of them one bit.

His mouth twitches to the side and he looks around, trying to decide what to address first.]

It's a strange sort of place, isn't it? For a while, I thought maybe I was in a dream. Everything here is different.

[Hodor nods solemnly.]

Hodor. [...he agrees].

It isn't so bad, though. I've made friends. And one of them says a Maester here might be able to fix my legs, so that I can walk again.

[Hodor's eyes widen in surprise].

Hodor? Hodor hodor? Hodor!

I think so, too! [Because Bran has convinced himself he speaks Hodor well enough to get the gist of that.]

Hodor!

[Hodor gets up suddenly, knocking over his chair and jostling the table in the process. He goes to Bran and picks him up as effortlessly as he did when he acted as his legs at Winterfell and hugs the small boy with enthusiasm.]

Hodor! Hodor hodor.

[Bran gasps. It's been so long since someone's picked him up like this before. He pats Hodor on the back in accord and reassurance.]

That's right. Careful, don't break anything.

[Hodor lowers Bran back in his wheelchair gingerly.]

Hodor. [he whispers, pats Bran gently on the head, and returns to his seat].

[Bran sets his plate aside and swipes at his mouth with the back of his hand.]

Do you want to do something fun? We haven't got to stay here. I'm nearly always here.

[Hodor nods, grinning.]

I want to ride the carousel. It's got horses made of wood, and they move on their own.

[Bran had the former stableboy at "horses."]

Hodor? Hodor hodor!

I thought you might like that. [Bran leads Hodor out the door again and to the centre of the City where the carousel waits. The City is much more crowded today than it is on a normal day, so the going is a little slow.]

I thought of asking someone if I could ride before, but... but I never did.

Hodor.

[Hodor looks at the wooden horses, frowning. He looks down at Bran, looks at the horses and looks back at Bran again.]

Hodor?

They're only pretend, but for riding still. It's like a game. [Bran thinks...] I've seen a man here who's got a horse for real. I never spoke to him though.

[Hodor raises his eyebrows.]

Hodor.

[Hodor looks back at the strange false horses and then again at Bran. After a moment, he picks the boy up, walks up to one of them and looks at him questioningly.]

Hodor?

[Bran nods happily. What has he done without Hodor all this time? He points to one of the horses.]

I like that one.

Hodor!

[Hodor grins and gently places Bran on the horse of his choosing, making sure the boy won't slip off. Once he's satisfied that Bran is secure, he steps back.]

Hodor. [a pause.] Hodor?

Bran adjusts himself and clings tight to the horse's neck so as not to fall off. A carved beast is definitely a far cry from a live one, and it's a little awkward without his specialised saddle, but he's satisfied all the same.]

You could probably ride too, if you like.

Hodor? [A smile breaks across his broad face.] Hodor!

[Gleefully, like a child, Hodor goes to the horse in front of Bran's and attempts to mount it. However, the giant stableboy misjudges his size and finds that he can't ride comfortably hunched over on the small wooden horse. After a moment or so of trying, he slides off, disappointed. He looks at Bran.]

....Hodor.

[Bran bites his lip. He probably should have realised; the carousel is built more for his size than Hodor's.

He does, however, remember something about Hodor guiding the horse when he and his siblings were first learning to ride.]
